Druids

The Air Force Academy, here in Colo. Springs, got into trouble a few years ago. They were shoving Christianity down every one's throat and quite a few students told their parents about it.

They have always had a beautiful chapel there and I knew that they had services for other faiths. So, I was shocked when I learned that this was going on and the whistle blower on this was a Jewish family. I'm glad they spoke up. It does not matter what faith you are, we are all in this world together and we need to get along.

So, the other day there was an article in the paper. The academy has now made a place for the Druid faith. A stone circle (which has been there a long time) on a beautiful part of the grounds. So, some moron went and put a cross on this site, as a harassment or joke. Who knows, but it was in poor taste.

Druidism is a religion older than Christianity and it has been around a long time. Churchill was a druid, my grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather were druids. And just as in any religion my father and my uncles did not care for this religion. But, my father did share a lot with me concerning it.

Druidism has been alive in this country for a long time. Though, some of the teachings that have been taught are not true druidism. The beauty of this religion is that you become one with nature, respecting the earth. It is not for greed, power or hurting your enemies. A true druid, respects life and knows true wisdom. It also knows that the etching in the stones around the great oak will never, can never be removed.

This religion is getting more attention, sort of coming out of the closet, so to speak. But, as with all religions, it will only be a good one if it stays close to the true teachings.

AS one great preacher/teacher once said... "spare me my followers." People who mean well, sometimes do really stupid things.

(sigh)

There was a lot of publicity about the proselytising by the right wing conservative Christian group. I believe they have a large Church near the acadamy. I do wish they would learn to live and let live.

I have been in that Chapel many times and it is indeed impressive. What a shame that a group og no-nothings had to spoil the freedom of religion there.

That should have been OF know nothings. Sorry!
