Penpals

To me, all of you are my penpals, this is what blogging means to me. We reach out and share our thoughts, emotions, cares, fears and joys.

I had a penpal when I was younger, she lived in Iowa and for the life of me, I cannot remember her name. Lydia from Writerquake had a penpal and she hopes to find her again. And I hope she does also.

But, I was thinking (god, help us all) that blogging was like having that penpal when I was younger. I may never meet any of you but I have enjoyed getting to know all of you. I have enjoyed every story, every point of view, every picture and all of the laughter.

Thank you for brightening my little corner of the world.

Responsibility

Kenju (Judy) had a post the other day about businesses that go on the net to see what people say about them.

It made me stop and think about the HUGE responsibility that I, as a blogger/writer have. I must be honest above all else in my writing, I must try and see both sides of things. But most of all I must not use my writing as a punching bag to hurt others.

For so many of you, this is not a problem. For me, I started blogging to share my family history and the history of my town and the people in it. Along with this, comes people that have done bad things. So, I will try to be a little more fairer, more understanding of others feelings.
