Oscar Wilde

Since October is halloween month, I'll keep posting halloween pics from Disney (of course).
Well, I read about Oscar Wilde, little did I know that he did the story of Dorain Gray. I loved that movie. i never read the book, I'm sure there is more in the book then the movie but none the less, I loved the movie.
I must say, that Wilde had a colorful life & was a colorful person. In today's world we would call him bi-sexual with preference to men. Even back before Roman times being bi-sexual or gay existed. So, when I read about someone from the 1800's being this way it does not shock me. This has been in the world longer then we have. I do not go so far as judging anyone on those basis. I am a person who likes a realtionship with one man, what others do is up to them.
Wilde was also a free thinker who's truthful quotes live long and still ring. He was born way before his time and I don't think the world was ready for him.
So, I will leave you with one of his quotes:
"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all."

Oscar Wilde Quotes

Darlene sent me some Oscar Wilde quotes and I thought all of them where great. But, one stood out above all the rest:
"We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars"
This spoke to me because my parents were always telling me "to look to the stars"
I'm wondering if they took this saying from Oscar Wilde's quote. I don't know much about Oscar Wilde but I'm going to do some research on him. It sounds like an interesting journey :)
