Ah, life just loves to throw things at you. Everybody on our street was out this afternoon. We were exchanging mail.
For some reason, when we get a new mailman, they just can't seem to put it in the right mailbox. We were the first ones out to pick up our mail.
My hubby looked at the mail (99% of it was the neighbors) so he walked next door, the neighbor was at the window so he opened the door right away. As soon as the words "new mailman" came out of my husbands mouth, the man's eyes got wide and in bare feet, ran out in 32 degree weather to check his mailbox.
The rest of the block had discovered this and mail was exchanged. It is against the law to put anything in a person's mailbox, so you have to hand it to them or wait till the next day, attach a note saying 'delivered to wrong address' and put it in your mailbox.
I have no idea why the postal service has a hard time here. We use to have a really good mailman but he has back problems and we see him about once month. Sure wish I could heal his back and then the mail would go to all the right places.
But, such is life

I feel your pain. We have a new newspaper delivery person starting tomorrow morning. Who knows where he/she'll throw our paper, especially since it is supposed to rain.
Betty, I know what you mean. We have been fortunate to have the same newspaper person for the last 5 yrs but before that we never knew where the paper would be. I hope you got a good carrier :)
